COMING CLOSER TO CHRIST: Why does Jesus teach with parables?

• As we grow learned and put more weight on what we know, we lose our child like simplicity to seek to understand. Parables take us out of what we presume to know and make of us disciples clinging to our Divine Teacher.
• Most of us if asked to draw a tree, would sketch out semblances of a trunk with branches; yet in reality, no tree exists without an extensive root structure below the earth. So too can we be easily deceived about the Kingdom of God, conceived by only what we see “on the surface” of our life experiences; however cloaked by faith, and yet no less real are the mysteries Our heavenly Father has given Jesus to reveals to us.

SENDING US OUT: The Sower is God our Father, and the seed is the union of Christ life sown in our soul:

• Seeding, watering, and mowing a front lawn isn’t enough if your neighbour’s unkempt yard has dandelions that blow bad seed into our yard. Who are the people I aggregate with, and what effect comes of it? Do I lift them up by word, deed, and witness to become Christ like, or do the bad seeds of those around me overtake me?
• All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16). What are my go to passages to share with those placed in my sphere of influence where God has planted me, and am I aware that I will be held accountable for the fruits to be yielded from this knowledge of Scripture?
