Many Calgarians struggle with food insecurity, often skipping meals or going hungry entirely. Feed the Hungry has addressed this critical need for over 25 years.
Join us! Sacred Heart is sponsoring Feed the Hungry Sunday on May 5th. We need your participation.
Feed The Hungry: Need-to-Know
- Weekly Sunday Lunch: Serves hot meals to Calgarians facing food insecurity.
- Guests: 350-500 people dine-in or take-out each week.
- Volunteers: 75 needed per Sunday.
- Location: St. Mary’s Hall (221-18th Ave. SW).
- All Ages Welcome: Under 12s need adult supervision.
- Shifts: Set-up (11am-12:30pm), Serving (12:30-4pm).
- Parking: Behind hall, church lot, or St. Monica’s lot.
- Volunteer Entry: East side entrance.
- Dress Code: Comfortable, conservative, closed-toe shoes. Aprons & gloves provided.
- Arrival: Sign-in, make name tag, report to Assistant Coordinator.
- Cancellation: Contact coordinator or call St. Mary’s Hall (403-228-5532).
- Cost: The cost of the event is $6000 – all money goes to the cost of food.
The Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus’ Lyceum Foundation has generously donated $3000 to this event.
