COMING CLOSER TO CHRIST:
The Baptism of the Lord shows us that Christ came to be immersed in our humanity, to be for us an example. Jesus came to lift us back into membership in God’s family. What God the Father tells Jesus after his baptism is what he wants to say to each one of us: “You are my beloved son; with you I am well pleased.”
