Many Calgarians struggle with food insecurity, often skipping meals or going hungry entirely. Feed the Hungry has addressed this critical need for over 25 years.

Location: St. Mary’s Cathedral Hall
About the Program
- This program offers a weekly Sunday lunch service providing hot meals to Calgarians facing food insecurity.
- Approximately 350-500 guests are served each week, with both dine-in and take-out options available.
Volunteer Opportunities
- We require approximately 75 volunteers each Sunday to ensure a smooth operation.
- Individuals of all ages are welcome to participate, with adult supervision mandatory for children under 12.
Program Schedule
Two volunteer shifts are available:
Set-up (11:00 AM – 12:30 PM)
Serving (12:30 PM – 4:00 PM)
Location & Parking
- The program takes place at St. Mary’s Hall (221- 18th Ave. SW).
- Ample parking is available behind the hall, in the church lot, or at St. Monica’s lot.
Volunteer Check-In
- Please enter through the east side entrance of the hall upon arrival.
- Upon check-in, you will be asked to sign in and create a name tag.
- An Assistant Coordinator will be available to answer any questions and provide further direction.
Volunteer Attire
- Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
- Aprons and gloves will be provided for all volunteers.
