Sacred Heart Church is now entering Phase Two of the Roof Replacement in 2023.
Pictures of the current status of the roof. Pictures 1 & 2 show the weathered tiles. Pictures 3 & 4 show the membrane under the tiles which has water stains.
In 2020, we successfully completed Phase one which involved replacing all the concrete roof tiles on the north & south sides of the roof directly over the main Church. A huge thank you to Len Maxwell and Terry Allen who oversaw this project as our volunteers.
Phase 1 would be the main church.
Phase 2 would be the upper Hall and Rectory.
Phase 3 would be the flat roofs over the office.
Thank you to everyone who has donated to the first phase of our campaign. We successfully reached our previous goal of $150,000 but now need to raise more money for Phase 2. This phase will replace the concrete roof tiles above the Rectory and also some flat sections that need to be resurfaced.
Initially, the quote was $54,318, however, our previous fundraising brings our total to $23,000. We appreciate the Knights of Columbus Council 1186 for the $5,000 donation made in April, which reduces the remaining amount to be raised to $18,000.
Unfortunately, it is never a good time for a Capital Project, however we don’t get to choose the timing of a new roof. We can only assure you that time has come and we all understand the importance of protecting this beautiful church.
Delays could lead to leaks, damage to the building and additional costs.
We ask that you give serious consideration to donating to the roof replacement. We are unable to maintain our Church without a roof over our heads.
Any donations given before year-end will receive 2023 tax receipt.
Thank you for your help in protecting Sacred Heart Church!
