2nd Sunday of Easter

COMING CLOSER TO CHRIST: Divine Mercy Sunday. In his book Memory and Identity Saint John Paul II wrote, “The limit imposed upon evil, of which man is both perpetrator and victim, is ultimately the Divine Mercy.” Evil, the fruit of sin, does not have the last word. There is a Word more powerful than sin, more powerful than evil. Jesus is the Word of the Father, who came to bring us forgiveness, healing, and union with God. Divine Mercy is when God’s love, in Jesus, meets our brokenness. In this time of uncertainty, may we cry out: Jesus, I trust in You!

SERVING OTHERS: Many of us are experiencing “cabin fever” being home bound for weeks now. There is a saying among those doing time in prison: you either do the time, or the time does you. So much of our life is filled with distractions that take our focus off the most important relationships in our lives and self-improvement that needs our devoted attention. This present reality is precisely that gift, for focus in our lives for what matters to us most both now and in eternity. Consider who you ought to reach out to this week and what of yourself can you improve on to be the best version of yourself?
