3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

COMING CLOSER TO CHRIST:  Pope Francis has declared that this Sunday is to be devoted to the celebration, study and dissemination of the Word of God “that the life of our people be constantly marked by this decisive relationship with the living word” May the Sunday of the Word of God help us to grow in religious and intimate familiarity with the sacred Scriptures. For as the sacred author taught of old: “This word is very near to you: it is in your mouth and in your heart for your observance” (Dt 30:14).

SERVING OTHERS:   The difference between a “volunteer” and a “ministry” is night and day. Volunteers offer their time and talent to fill a need; whereas a ministry is a personal response in our baptism to be about the work of Christ’s Kingdom. Am I still waiting for the Lord to call me to ministry, or have I asked Him to send me? The Harvest is great but the labourers are few (Mt 9:37). Claim your ministry in your parish of worship. Come follow, the Master calls!
