32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time

COMING CLOSER TO CHRIST:

Prayerfully consider Jesus’ words from today’s Gospel reading about how God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, even though they had been dead for many centuries. God is still their God because “he is not God of the dead, but of the living.” Now imagine meeting in heaven the many saints who are alive in God, sharing in eternal life. Maybe it’s meeting saints such as St. Peter or the Blessed Virgin Mary or recent saints such as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta or Pope St. John Paul II.

SERVING OTHERS:

Being forgotten is one of the greatest sorrows to bear. This weekend we recall the many Canadians veterans who put their lives in harm’s way for peace and freedom. Look for a veteran, or spouse of a deceased veteran, to express your  personal gratitude that they may know they are remembered and cherished.
