26th Sunday in Ordinary Time

COMING CLOSER TO CHRIST:
The slightest good deed done for God or for his Kingdom will not go unrewarded – even if it’s only giving a glass of water to someone who is thirsty. God is pure goodness, pure generosity. There is no evil, no selfishness, no miserliness or envy in the heart of God. * Sometimes we refuse to give freely to others what we have freely received from God. Other times we envy the good that others are doing, as if it somehow it detracted from the good we are doing or made us look bad. * Let us encourage whatever good is being done anywhere, whether or not we get the credit.

SERVING OTHERS:
Imagine our Sacred Heart parish community where everyone knows each others name! It begins today with me, seeking that familiar face after mass whom I have never introduced myself and connect over coffee together in the Narthex. Next week when you greet your new friend by name, see how much more you feel at home! Home is where you hear your name invoked with love. One new friend each week, makes this my home more and more!
