5th Sunday of Easter

Spiritual Take-away
“Receive the Holy Spirit” Jn. 20:22. Today a group in our parish will receive the sacrament of Confirmation. In Confirmation, the soul is imprinted with a permanent seal that marks this individual forever as a Christian. The gift of the Holy Spirit is strength from above that puts the grace of Baptism into practice and helps us act as a witness for Christ. Please pray for them!

Catechism Challenge
It was practice for the bishop to ask questions to see whether or not the ones who were to receive Confirmation knew and understood their faith. If we were asked “What are the fruits of the Holy Spirit”, would we know how to respond?

Do you know Me, love and share Me?
The fruits of the Holy Spirit are charity, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, generosity, gentleness, faithfulness, modesty, self-control and chastity (cf. Gal 5:22-23). Would someone be able to deduce that I am a Christian because they see these fruits in my life? Pick one of these fruits. Circle that fruit and find one way I can communicate to others through one act of love every day this week that reflects this fruit.
